Q: How did Workspace Solutions get its start?
Scott Wilson: Workplace Solutions began as a furniture dealer serving the facilities management process for regionally headquartered companies with a significant investment in real estate assets and a large investment in modular furniture systems.
Q: How does your store set itself apart from other office furniture retailers?
Scott: We are a company comprised of experienced furniture professionals who are dedicated to supporting the facility management process. We are centrally located in Southern California. We offer a turn-key furniture dealership, utilizing our in-house installers, trucks, and design/ AutoCad capabilities with in-house manufacturing capabilities.
Q: How would you describe your typical customer? Where do they come from, and what are their needs?
Scott: Our typical Customer falls into one of three categories: a) a Regional HQ company with large amounts of real estate and a large investment in systems furniture; b) a Smaller HQ company that requires a requires a full service dealer capability and a requirement to work on a tight budget; or c) a start-up company that has a limited furniture budget and requires a knowledgeable office furniture dealer.
Q: What kinds of services beyond office furniture does your store provide?
Scott: Several, including: design using AUTOCAD, reconfiguration planning and installation of existing furniture systems, re-manufacturing of existing systems furniture, on-going facilities service maintenance of existing systems furniture, development of a customized e-commerce purchasing web site.
Q: What is your most popular product or product category?
Scott: Executive seating and re-manufactured systems furniture.
Q: As an online furniture retailer, what methods of delivery do you use?
Scott: Either direct shipping from the manufacture, or white glove delivery.
Q: What makes it possible to offer discounted rates on your products?
Scott: We are able to negotiate bulk purchasing from the manufacturer.
Q: How do you think the market for low-cost workplace furniture will change in the coming years?
Scott: Additional services such as design, installation and on-going maintenance of existing furniture to extend the life cycle costs.

Scott: We are a bricks and mortar company with experienced employees who have extensive furniture experience with the major furniture manufacturers.
