Brass and brocade jewelry box, 'Mughal Treasures'

Khalid Ali orchestrates the merger of two of India's artistic traditions in the design of this jewelry box. Carved of mango wood, the box is adorned with colorful mosaics featuring the legendary zari brocade, once favored by Mughal emperors. Ali frames each mosaic with finely embossed flowers on nickel-plated brass, creating a spectacular contrast of colors and materials. Inside, the versatile box features a mirror and a removable tray.
