Q: How did wellness products inspire you to launch a family-owned online store?
Gary Weber: My wife has done a near staggering amount of research related to alternative health and wellness-related products over the course of several decades. She found that the vast majority did not perform as advertised or were minimally beneficial, at best. However, after much trial and error, several product lines were found to be tremendous, and this hand-picked selection has contributed greatly to my family's overall health and well-being. At some point, we realized that others could benefit from such a thoroughly vetted selection, especially as Americans in particular became more health and wellness-conscious in the late '90's and early 2000's. Every minute detail of our business practices and procedures have been carefully analyzed and adjusted for the absolute maximum in efficiency. We also purchase most items in large bulk and we have established long-standing relationships with our partners and vendors. Q: What kinds of improvements have you made over the years to make shopping a pleasant experience?
Gary: We have continually refined all aspects of our business, especially those which the customer directly experiences. I have honestly lost track of just how many times we have redone our website's navigation, for example. The main idea is to remove anything that hinders the customer from having the most rewarding shopping experience possible. Naturally, at the same time, it makes sense to implement anything that helps the customer. Bigger and better product pictures, more detailed and thorough product descriptions, clear instructions and policies, and a clean, logically set up website are just the starting points.
