GBD Estate Pipe Virgin Billiard 9435

About the maker: GBD pipes were the most affordable high end pipe of the 1960's.  A rival in quality, design, and price to Dunhill.  Smokers' Haven was the main retail supplier for GBD's until the early 1980's, when production quality slipped.  GBD produced consistently well made pipes, almost entirely of Algerian briar. In the late 1960's to late 1970's, they introduced the "Collector" and "Unique" lines, made primarily by Jamieson, who had carved for Barling for many years, and was skilled in freehand design. Older GBD pieces are excellent smokers and unique in design.  Dollar for Dollar, the old GBD pipes are the best!

Description: This is an  old GBD pipe from the 1960's. Only the finest of closely grained briar is utilized for this exceptional cross-grained virgin piece.

Condition: 96/100    There is a small dark spot on the bottom of the bowl (possibly from the external heat source?), and the inner rim has a wisp of darkening.
