Slivered almonds are wonderful in baking, candy making, and snacks. But they are fragile. Almonds have a high fat content and should be stored in a cool place to avoid rancidity.  For longest life either freeze them or store them in your refrigerator.  Once the bag is opened, always store any remainder in the refrigerator and use within three months.  Never store almonds or products with almonds in them over the stove or in other warm places.
