Moderate to fairly rapid growth to 50-80 ft. Slender, pyramidal when young, open and round headed at maturity. Brownish gray bark. Glossy dark green leaves are deeply cut into bristlepointed lobes; leaves turn yellow, red, finally russet brown in fall, and many hang on in winter. Plant where its spread will not interfere with walks, drives or street traffic or trim it often. It is a fine tree for lawns. Native to Eastern U.S. Growth Habit: 12" to 24". Zone 5-9. Low Temp. Tolerance: -20 degrees F.
