Crescent Moon Gold 17 Snowshoe (Expedition)

The largest and lightest of all 'big' shoes, the Gold 17, is updated this year with the new XL version of the SPL binding to accommodate a wide range of foot sizes. The large deck provides float to any shoer weighing up to 300 lbs with their gear, but size isn't the only special feature of these shoes though.  The larger SPL binding is able to hold more of your foot, and a horizontal stabilizer adds control and response in the deeper snow.  The binding is also very simple to get in and out of - an important consideration when you have a big pack on.  The new Gold 17 also uses an additional set of traversing claws (like the new Gold 10s) that make it nearly impossible to lose your grip.  Even though the Gold 17 is a really big shoe, it is remarkably lightweight and provides excellent float and traction on or off trail.
