The coffee is surprisingly bright and vibrant – like the Burundi culture itself. A great Burundi has defined fruits, a milk chocolaty body, and usually some earthy/grassy notes. This year’s lot shows darker berries such as raspberry and black currant (rather than the citrus of former crops), and has a mild herbal quality that cuts through the milk chocolate finish.
