Why Install a USI Electric Heat Alarm? Some environments can trigger nuisance alarms in conventional smoke alarms due to shifts in temperature and humidity as well as dust, fumes and insects. Heat alarms are intended for use in the locations listed below because they are virtually unaffected by these adverse conditions: • Kitchens • Unfinished Attics • Basements • Garages • Boiler Rooms • Other areas where high levels of dust and fumes are present.

 

• 130F (57C) Fixed Temperature Alarm
• 9V Battery Backup in Event of AC Power Failure - This heat alarm is powered by 120 VAC and a 9 Volt battery backup source. AC/DC heat alarms offer added protection in the event of a power failure or a drained battery. (Includes 9 Volt Battery)
• Interconnectable up to 18 units (12 units must be smoke alarms) - When unit goes into alarm, all interconnected units sound their alarm. This heat alarm can be interconnected with as many as 12 other USI alarms (Models USI-1103, USI-1203, USI-1204, USI-1208, USI-1209, USI-1213, USI-3204, USI-5204 and 6 other units which may be a combination of Carbon Monoxide Alarms such as USI-7385, USI-7390, USI-7485, USI-7490 and USI-7795, USI-2430 Heat Alarms or USI-960 Relay Modules, for a total of not more than 18 interconnected devices.
• Originating Alarm Feature - when heat is detected, the red LED flashes on the initiating heat alarm
• This heat alarm will not attach to the mounting ring if a battery is not in the battery chamber.
• This heat alarm will sound a short beep about once a minute if the battery is weak or improperly connected.
• The green LED indicates that the heat alarm is receiving AC power and is working under normal operation.
• A loud 85 decibels at 10 feet alarm horn will sound to alert you of an emergency.
• The test button checks heat alarm operation.
• Separate large size 5-5/8” (143mm) Mounting Ring attaches to any Standard Rectangular or Octagon Junction Box and Covers Drywall Cutout - for easy installation and coverage of drywall cutouts.
• Wire Harness for Easy Connection
• Five Year Limited Warranty Heat alarms should always be interconnected with smoke alarms to provide early warning when fire is present.

WARNING:This heat alarm requires constant 120 Volt AC power AND a working9 Volt battery to operate properly. This heat alarm WILL NOT work if AC power is not connected or has failed or has been interrupted for any reason AND the batteries removed, drained or improperly connected. DO NOT use any other kind of battery except as specified in this manual.
