'Tis the Season to Ski
With winter comes snow, which means it is time to dust off those skis and hit the slopes. Skiers, who frequently ski during the winters, often find it more economical to purchase rather than rent ski gear , like rent ski poles , skis and ski boots . Cost aside, renting does provide one main benefit — convenience.
Some ski gear, such as ski gloves or mittens, ski pants and ski goggles , are not available for rent; therefore, both avid skiers and novices must purchase their own sets. Buying gear that is specially made for skiing is beneficial. For instance, skiers should wear lightweight, performance-based layers and waterproof ski jackets made from breathable fabrics. The appropriate attire should promise heavy weather protection without inhibiting movement. For additional weather protection, most skiers also wear ski hats or headbands, neck gaiters, face masks and other similar ski accessories. Some advanced skiers should even consider buying protective gear like helmets and GPS personal locaters.
Most stores that sell ski gear also sell equipment and apparel for other snow sports. So, if skiing is not your cup of tea, you can still shop at the same stores for snowboard equipment, snowshoe gear or ice skates .
