"The Wicked Pony" by Frederic Remington

 Inspired by a real-life event, this Remington bronze sculpture depicts a fallen rider attempting to wrestle his horse to the ground in a desperate attempt to regain control.  Grabbing the animal's ear with one hand, the rider's body is vulnerable as the horse retaliates by kicking the rider with his hind legs.  In The Wicked Pony, Frederic Remington has memorialized the harsh reality and untamed forces of the Old West. The Wicked Pony is a Remington statue that must be seen from all angles to be truly appreciated.  Please click on the thumbnail images above to see additional views. We have cast The Wicked Pony in our own California art foundry using 44 lbs.
