"The Buffalo Horse" by Frederic Remington

 Remingon's sculpture The Buffalo Horse is an historical and dynamic rendering in bronze of the ritual of "buffalo running" by the American Plains Indians.  An Native American hunter is depicted attempting to overpower and take down a powerful buffalo.  No easy prey, the buffalo comes up under the horse and throws the hunter up into the air. The original casting of The Buffalo Horse is on display at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  We create our contemporary version of Remington's sculpture with an intent of faithfully reproducing his original piece in every way.  Please click on the thumbnail images above to see additional views of this detailed artwork. We have cast The Buffalo Horse in our own California art foundry using 115 lbs.
