This gorgeous sculpture by Louis-Valentin Robert (French, 1821-1874) depicts a cavorting nude priestess holding a horn with overflowing coins in one hand and a bronze standard in the other. She is standing atop a sculpted base with a spectacular relief of dancing satyrs and nymphs. Please click on the thumbnail images above to see additional views. This is an outstanding example of the French Romantic style. Fortune makes an elegant addition to any setting, and it makes a great female counterpart to our casting of Flying Mercury (Item No. 197A). We have cast Fortune in our own California art foundry using 26 lbs. (12 kg) of pure bronze. The sculpture is finished with a beautiful patina in tones of browns and amber. The sculpture stands a commanding 30½" (78 cm) high. It is signed by the artist on the wheel beneath the maiden's foot and we have added our Art Bronze foundry seal to the rear of the bronze base. This is a fine bronze sculpture, made to the highest standards. We guarantee your satisfaction.
