cotton handkerchiefs -crow/leaf

Handkerchiefs are an environmentally conscious alternative to facial tissue and can serve all kinds of purposes throughout a day. These are screenprinted by the artist using her own drawings. Soft, 100% cotton batiste, 16.5" square, launders easily with your regular clothing. (Durable fabric paints are used instead of dyes.) Each handkerchief will vary slightly but have the crow and leaf designs and variations on the colors shown. Astrid Hilger Bennettpaints and prints all of her own cotton fabrics using Procion fiber reactive dyes. The items shown on this website are smaller functional pieces, but she is also an award-winning fiber artist who makes abstract, painterly art quilts. Astrid is a color-lover and hopes that her work adds a lively spark to your own home environment. She is a resident of Iowa City and has been associated with Iowa Artisans Gallery since it started in 1984.
