Details
Inside every pack of Punjana Fairtrade tea are the prized leaves from the Phulbari and Borengajuli tea gardens in Assam, India. Punjana pays a Fairtrade premium price for these choice leaves and this extra money helps to improve the lives of the tea pickers who work on these gardens. This means more money for education, health care, and special projects, things that we all take for granted.
Quality of Punjana Tea and BlendingPunjana´s tea tasters (Ross and David Thompson) select their teas every week from the most prized tea gardens in Assam (North India) and the finest tea gardens on the slopes of mount Kenya (east of the Rift valley) where climate and soil quality produce teas of exceptional quality. They time their purchases so that the leaves are at their best. These teas cost more but the Thompsons will not compromise on quality!
Punjana's environmental policy ensures we are committed to continual improvement of our environmental performance and the prevention of pollution.
This is achieved and implemented by an environmental management system, which is compliant with the International Environmental Management Standard, ISO 14001.
The FutureLike their grandfather and fathers before them, Ross and David Thompson strive to maintain and improve the quality of their teas, and it´s this tradition that matters most of all. Punjana is now the brand leader in its home market in Northern Ireland.
