14th century centermount bascinet w/grille 14ga. mild steel

We have one sample bascinet available to fit a size "A" head, 20.5" - 22" circumference (around the brow).

This is a fully-functional craftsman's sample. It has a different lining than on our production models, is made from a lighter gauge steel (14), and has a slightly different set up for the vervelles. It has only the side-mount grille, no pignose visor. But it is perfectly functional and is pleasingly lightweight! This side-mount bascinet, in the style of the mid-late 14th century, features a REVIVAL spring steel interchange that will enable the fitting of muiltiple visors. Both round- and pig-faced visors are planned for this line, and we also have a WMA pierced visor which should be received in just a few weeks. This is an excellent value for Western martial arts, SCA combat, or reenactment. It will give many years of fine service. Size S = 20.5" - 22"
