Checking occurs as a cedar log releases moisture across or through the annual growth rings. It does not affect the structural performance or integrity of the furniture, and many times will enhance the natural beauty of the piece. All cedar logs which contain the heart of the tree will develop lengthwise cracks or checks, and the checking will never go deeper than the heart. In other words, don't be alarmed if you see cracks in your cedar furniture.

Optional choice of Superdeck Stain  protects brand-new or weathered wood from premature graying, mildew growth and cracking, swelling and warping caused by water absorption. *Note - May add 1-3 Days to the product ship time.
