Perth Mint 1 oz Gold Bar   The Perth Mint was first established in 1899 as a branch of Britain's Royal Mint. Rather than shipping gold mined in Australia back to London then distributing it back to Britain's colonies, the Royal Mint established branches throughout the Empire in places where gold was found to refine and produce gold sovereign coins. It remained under British ownership until 1970 when control passed to the Western Australian Government.    These one ounce gold bullion bars feature the Perth Mint logo and hopping kangaroo motif. Each bar is hallmark stamped for weight and purity.
