Details
Smith-Corona Electra of 1958 was the first electric portable in the market. Although electric models were widely available in standard size from various makers at the time, no one attempted to introduce an electric model in the portable market until Smith-Corona. The launch of the electric portables marked a decline in the production of the manual portables. The Electra portables are desirable because of their historical significance in spite of the fact that they are relatively of recent vintage.
