The Direct Connect (inline) Bi-directional Amplifier improves RF coverage in areas with no signal or low signal strength. The unit amplifies iDEN (Nextel, Southern LINC, Mike) signals providing up to 3 Watts of output power. Increases your phone's coverage up to 50 miles or more (under ideal conditions.)

Works with all iDEN (Nextel/Southern LINC/Mike) providers. Not compatible with 800MHz Cellular or 1900MHz providers.

How the unit functions:

The 800MHz iDEN signal from the cell site is received by the Wilson Cellular antenna (sold separately). The signal is then amplified and transmitted to your phone through the Wilson Cellular phone adapter cable (sold separately). When the phone transmits, the signal is sent to the amplifier through the adapter and then amplified and sent to the cell site through the outside antenna. Compatible with:

Nextel, Southern LINC, Mike. Not compatible with Cellular/PCS carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, Alltel, US Cellular, Midwest Wireless, Sprint PCS, T-Mobile, Qwest, etc

Cellular/PCS users should use the 811201 - Wilson Cellular 800MHz/1900MHz Dual-Band 3 Watt Direct Connection Amplifier

• Nextel Rebanding note: Due to interference between the Nextel 800MHz band and the Public Safety 800MHz band, Nextel will be moving their service to the 900MHz band. What this means is that at some point your 800MHz repeater will need to be replaced with a 900MHz repeater. More (PDF)

Ideal for use with car kits requiring an external antenna. Most Motorola full install car kits will require an FME/Male to Mini UHF/Male adapter for use.
