Psalms of Patience, Protest and Praise CD is a collection psalms settings by John L. Bell of the Iona Community.

Patience, because, like the generations who have sung the Psalms before us, we need to feel for God's timing. We are invited to wait, patiently on God.

Protest, because in the Psalms we also may cry out the honest hurt or anger of our "Why!" to God.

Praise, not from the top of the head, but from the heart and mind and soul.

The Psalms are the songs and prayers of the Bible which Jesus sang. In singing them today, we enter into solidarity with Jesus  and with the people of God every age. The songs have attractive, memorable tunes, and sound good a cappella. The language is natural and faithful to scripture, restoring the potency that older paraphrases of the Psalms have lost today.
