The YHM Flip Up Rear Sight is a sturdy, lightweight BUIS (Back Up Iron Sight) designed with a steel base, a quick release thumb screw, and aluminum stem. It is easily and quickly locked in the deployed (up) position with ease, and takes up very little space on the upper receiver. When the sight is folded down, it is out of the way, and only measures .840 inches from the highest point down to the top of the upper receiver.
A flip up sight is intended to be a backup for any optics mounted to your weapon in case of failure. In that unlikely event, just deploy your BUIS, and you are back in the game.
The YHM Flip Up Sight features a 1/2 M.O.A., which means each click of the windage knob will shift the point of bullet impact 1/2 inch at 100 yards. It features a standard rear peep aperture similar to the sight on an A2, and mounts to any picatinny rail. It will work with the standard M16-M4 front sight and all other YHM sights.
