Six of these exceptionally-crafted liner locking designs make up the new John Russell Case Summit Collection, each featuring top-quality handle materials and a palate of high-end features including a unique drop-point blade design. The Drop-Point blade is flat-taper ground and made from domestic BG-42 steel; a bearing-grade composition with added carbon and vanadium to give improved strength and increased edge retention. Case knives has integrated a precision-locking pivot screw to an enhanced bolster design that adds stability and life to the SlimLock. A thumb stud provides safe and convenient one-handed opening. Case Knives credits John Russell (Russ) Case with providing the inspiration for the SlimLock. The son of the company's namesake, William Russell (W.R) Case, Russ was known for adopting the latest heat treatment techniques and incorporating new and exotic handle materials into his knife designs during the early twentieth century.
