4 ft. x 4 ft. This is a popular variety with a neat, rounded form and leaves that emerge reddish-pink, darkening to maroon-red over summer, and lights up fiery-red in autumn. They do best in cool climates in well-drained, woodland soil that stays slightly moist in summer. Full sun is preferable for best leaf coloration, but afternoon shade should be provided where summers are hot, to prevent sunburn and browned leaf margins. These are grafted trees and any growth occurring below the graft should be carefully pruned away at the base. Dimensions are estimates after ten years of growth. For reference, we recommend J.D.
