Green Onion Bread Spread and Dip Mix Basil, dill and savory complement the scallion and chive mixture in this herb packet. Blend with sour cream or mayonnaise for vegetable dip or sandwich spread. Sprinkle herbs on salad, pasta or buttered bread for meal enhancers.
Green Onion Bread Spread and Dip Mix Recipes:
For Sandwich Spread: Blend contents of packet into one cup sour cream mixed with one cup of mayonnaise. Allow to stand 30 minutes. Spread on good bread or bagel. Top with sliced fresh tomatoes and shredded cheese or any variety of sandwich meats.
For Dip Mix: Blend contents of packet into one cup sour cream mixed with one cup mayonnaise and allow to stand 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight. Serve with cut-up raw vegetables such as carrots, yellow summer squash, cauliflower, mushrooms and blanched green beans.
For Herbed French Bread: Stir contents of packet before measuring out one tablespoon herb blend. Mix the tablespoon of mix with one cup (2 sticks) butter, allow to stand 30 minutes. Spread on French or other good bread and toast under broiler about 3 minutes until browned on edges. serve in a bread basket with dinner. Save extra herb mix for another use.
Spinach Salmon Dip 1 6.5-oz. can Salmon, drained and flaked 1 10-oz. can frozen Spinach, (cook, drain and squeeze out excess liquid) 1 cup Mayonnaise 1 cup Sour Cream 1 Package green onion dip mix Combine all ingredients, chill several hours to blend and serve with crisp veggies or crackers.
Crabmeat Green Onion Dip 1 6.5 ounce can crabmeat 8 oz. cream cheese 1/4 cup mayonnaise 1/2 t. lemon juice 1 t. Worcestershire sauce 2 ounces shredded fresh Parmesan cheese 1 Package Green Onion Dip mix Bake in a small casserole at 400 degrees for 30 minutes and serve hot with crackers or bread.
