Tape 1 includes Ireland's uilleann pipe and folk dances; England's Military Band, bagpipe performance, and Scottish sword dance; France's chanson, Harlequin dance and Farandole folk dance; Switzerland's Alphorn quartet and Naturjodel ensemble; West Germany's carnival of the bear spirit and sword dance; Spain's folk dances, Italy's folk songs and dances; Greek folk dance and a wedding ceremony in Crete. Tape 2 features folk dance medleys and a hatchet dance from Poland, Czechoslovakia's folk songs and dances, a peasant wedding dance and Bohemian sword dance, gypsy songs and dances; Hungarian dance processions, zither ensemble, hurdy-gurdy music and men's dance, and wedding ceremony. Tape 3 travels to Romania for ensemble and flute performance, along with folk songs, round and line dance, the autumn harvest festival, Moldavian dances, and folk song and dance of the mountain people; Yugoslavian folk dance and songs, epic singing and narrative poetry accompanied by the gusle (bowed flute); Bulgarian wedding and farm workers songs; Albanian plate-spinning songs, women's chorus, village dances and instruments, war dances and narrative songs.
