REVIEW BY: Reviewed Mar 28, 2008 RDG_9219 I am running XP Pro, installed my new networking card. During install it asked me for drivers,...drivers,installation disc or instructions, none of the above were sent with the new card. O.K.,shutdown my comp; put in the old networking from my sons comp. that didn't need any drivers. So, what to Intel, found my card, great right, wrong.I tried the drivers, they didn't work.O.K.,shutdown comp again, put in sons networking card again; you should get the drift by now. I think that I know something about a computer here gang, but this was driving me nuts.I was able to get the drivers to install after my son the IT guy...lol...said,''dad,they should have given you the disc if you had to load drivers for the card.'' I wrote to Tigerdirect, they said they were sorry for the inconveinence. The card is great and fast, when purchasing, just incase and for a piece of mind, get the drivers from Intel first and put them on your desk top.Once the card is installed, doulbe click the drivers Icon.Than
REVIEW BY: Reviewed Feb 20, 2008 Redid the whole office using these. couldnt be happier with this product. Even older gig and other brand cards I was replacing with these. These are better then using onboard Gig also. For 30$ you can afford to go gig. Gig Switches and hubs are not that much either. Makes a huge difference.
REVIEW BY: Reviewed Dec 21, 2007 I bought several for my office. Installing on a Linux SuSE box was great, The drivers installed automatically with no hitches. On the Windows XP boxes, I failed to download the drivers before installing. Thank goodness for jump drives. Downloaded drivers from another machine and installed from the jump drive.
REVIEW BY: Reviewed Dec 20, 2007 These are a breeze to set up, and they worked in a windows 98 machine as well as the XP machines. The Card seemed fine with Cat 5 cables, although the test always showed every cable at the exact same spot in the good range. Just remember to get the drivers from the intel site before you put the new card in the machine.
REVIEW BY: Jim M - Co Reviewed Oct 30, 2007 Installed this Intel Pro 1000 T in a Dell Optiplex 320 mini tower PCIe 16 slot as the PCI slots were occupied. This is a PCIe 1x card. If fit into the front of the 16 slot and worked about 1/2 the time; it wouldn't reinitialize reliably on every boot...Intel replaced the first card but the problem persisted..hypothesize Dell's implementation of the PCIe slot is imperfect.
