Just like on your finish, polish and wax residue eventually dries. It's that dried residue that fills the tiny cellulose holes in the pads, and makes them ineffective. This specially designed brush with medium bristles cleans out the dried residue on the polishing pads. If you have a PC, you need a way to clean your pads!How it works: * Turn the Porter Cable on it's back, and rest it on your knee. * Set the oscillation speed to 5. * Start at the center of the pad, and apply light pressure with the bristles to the pad. * Slowly work your way to the outside of the pad * Clean the brush with your hose and some household cleaner.For thorough pad cleaning after use: * Spray some household cleaner. * Further dampen the pad with water. * Scrub lightly with the brush
