Weldbond Mosaic Glue

The HALF-GALLON jug is an economical way to refill your small working bottles and save money. At 64 ounces, the jug contains the equivalent of EIGHT of the 8-ounce bottles. An amazing product. Weldbond is a water-based adhesive that looks and handles just like plain white glue yet cures stronger than many of the smelly solvent-based glues. The manufacturer's brochure calls Weldbond the most versatile, non-toxic, non-flammable adhesive on the North American market. We don't think this is an exaggeration. Weldbond is probably the most-used adhesive among mosaic artists with no close second. It bonds to hundreds of different materials and is very water-resistant once it dries. Easy cleanup with soap and water.
Please use good judgment. This is a water-based adhesive and it can be softened by moisture over time. Avoid using for outdoor applications, particularly patio floors, fountains and pools. Instead, use thinset bonding mortar or an outdoor adhesive as recommended by your local building material store for these applications. Save the Weldbond for fine-art applications and indoor mosaics where a detailed work with small tiles is required.
